Autumn & winter is coming, time for a warm dog coat for your dog! For example, choose a trench-coat or coat for your small dog such as a Chihuahua or a functional dog coat for the large dog. Because no dog has the same shape, the jackets can be adjusted in various ways by means of elastic bands and different buttons for an optimal fit. When to buy a dog coat?

Whether your dog needs a dog coat depends on a number of factors. Dogs with a very short coat, without a thick under coat or little fat on the bone, can use a warm winter dog coat on (extreme) cold and wet days. You can think of breeds such as Greyhounds, Doberman and Dalmatians. With small dogs, such as Chihuahua, French Bulldog, Dachshunds, Jack Russels, it is advisable to have a dog coat worn in the winter if you notice that walking is no longer fun because of the cold.

Large Breed Dog Coats

Happy-House has developed a functional outdoor jacket especially for large dogs, ideal for cold and rainy weather. The large dog coats are easy to put on due to the special closure on the back. The reflective material around the jacket (3D reflection) makes your dog highly visible in the dark. The jacket has a soft teddy or imitation fur collar. All Happy-House dog coats can be used with a collar or harness.

Choosing the right size dog coat

The dog coats are available in different sizes. The sizes are equal to the back length of your dog. You measure the correct clothing size for your dog between the beginning of the neck (where the collar is) to the beginning of the tail. The number of centimeters measured is equal to the clothing size of the dog. If your dog's size is exactly between two sizes, it is best to order the larger size. This way the dog coat is not too tight. For dogs of a broad built breed such as an English Bulldog, it is better to order a larger size. See also: Size table dog coats.
